Neri&Hu is honored to announce that Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu are awarded their first Lifetime Achievement Award from FRAME Awards 2021. FRAME is a global platform for interior design, dedicated to providing a comprehensive perspective on spatial design at large. FRAME Awards take a holistic approach to interior design, with the aim to bring the industry together to set the global standard for spatial excellence. The Lifetime Achievement Award is the most pivotal among the Honorary awards, recognizing designers who have long been central contributors to their field.
In 2007, Neri&Hu's design was first shortlisted by FRAME. International attention has followed since. In the past fourteen years, many Neri&Hu projects, including Aranya Art Center, Suzhou Chapel, Tsingpu Yangzhou Retreat, New Shanghai Theater, Junshan Cultural Center, Sulwhasoo Flagship, Design Republic Design Commune, and The Unfolding Village, have won in various categories of FRAME Awards.
Rossana Hu said in the interview, "we don't take this lightly. Instead, we are extremely grateful. For me, it's almost like coming full circle, the very first project that got the first exposure was FRAME and this is the first lifetime achievement award."
Robert Thiemann, Founder&Director of FRAME, commended Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu for "consistently building an international cross-sector portfolio of great quality, showing a deep understanding of context, history, and contemporary culture." Robert added, "whether they design furniture, interiors, or buildings, their work is always user-centric, layered, and open to multiple interpretations."
“FRAME has always been, in many ways,” Lyndon Neri commented, “what we deem as an institution that has not just credibility, but within the design world creates a barometer for architects, designers, interior designers, and product designers like us, to be able to see how we have fared along [with] our global colleague.”
