"Neri&Hu is a practice that has been steadfast in navigating their close knowledge and precise skill for design from furniture and interiors through to city scale, moving the discipline, practice, craft and education of architecture and architects across east and west seamlessly."

Neri&Hu is awarded the "Architecture Studio of the Year" by DEZEEN Awards 2021, becoming the first architectural studio in China to win this award since the foundation of DEZEEN Awards. Papi, designed by Neri&Hu, is also awarded the "Best Small Interior".
This category focuses not only on the creativity, sensitivity and client satisfaction of architectural works, but also on all-around design excellence in a firm's body of work, firm culture and positive social impact.
Lyndon Neri remarked, "In this contemporary current, it is still a very rare sight to see a Chinese creative to be recognized on the world stage, so we treasure this honor deeply, and want to use this opportunity to encourage other creatives in China to believe in our own voice. We ourselves are extremely encouraged and impressed by the new wave of Chinese architects, interior designers, and product designers. This country is experiencing an unprecedented explosion of creative energy, on all fronts, and it's exciting to be a part of it."
"Looking back at our career, we see how we've taken down many walls of convention and broken the expected ways of working to invent new possibilities. Either in our work process, or experimenting with hybrid programs, or challenge authorities with rules of establishments," Rossana Hu added, "we've never been afraid to cross the line for the sake of brining design to the next level. "
"The restaurant has an unexpected and brave façade. The design is so effortless and is a beautiful combination of old and new, considering the beauty in the aged elements. There is an innovative use of the space adding the curves and flow of direction. Every single detail and material is carefully integrated with the existing elements."
Rossana explained, "For Papi, we designed the exterior elevation, interior architecture, furnishing selection and layout, and we designed a chair. It would be hard to cover the various realms without having expert teams supporting in each of these areas. We talk about the practice being "interdisciplinary" and it's demonstrated clearly here through the seamless integration of architecture, interiors, furniture and graphics. We see design as a holistic discipline, taking it from the renaissance notion of seeing design as a multidisciplinary approach. "
"We want to thank all the people who believed in us. The clients who invested their resources to get the projects built… the teams of young talents under us who worked past midnight for weeks to finish all the drawings to meet impossible deadlines… the builders who, despite the difficulties, share our vision and lay each brick according to drawing without knowing how it will turn out. We thank each and everyone of them for their dedication and commitment for excellence."
