Climate change, limited natural resources, as well as growing demands and regulatory frameworks for an ecological building culture require different architectural approaches. How can architects make an impact with their designs and their choices for particular building materials such as bricks? The symposium’s speakers will share their insights from their respective fields for a discussion on how architects can make a substantial contribution for the built environment. Speakers for this symposium include Lina Ghotmeh, Kathrin Dörfler, Wilfried Kuehn, Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu. The panel discussion will be moderated by Nicole Stoecklmayr.
Brick Award, held every two years, was initiated by Wienerberger in 2004 to demonstrate how exceptional and modern architecture using brick can be, providing a stage for excellent brick architecture and its architects. An international jury of architects selects the winners within the categoris including two Grand Prize winners. The winners are presented along with the 50 nominations in the accompanying Brick Book.
