This collection of chairs honors the core ethos of Very Wood, which marries function and craftsmanship. Neri&Hu’s design revolves around the idea of each material representing a distinct function, and through explicit constructions they form a visible hierarchical relationship. Starting at the top is the curved backrest that utilizes the flexibility of bentwood to create a comfortable support without additional structures. The seating pad in the middle not only adds comfort, but also a touch of unique identity through various textile options. Lastly, the carved solid wood base brings all the elements together.
