Ento | Xū Collection

Xū, in Chinese, means empty, absent and void, alluding to a philosophy where absence is as important as presence, where the void is as significant as the object. For this collection, Neri&Hu explores the unseen space within the hollows of bamboo, shifting focus from the outward form to

the inner realm. The curved surface inside the bamboo forms a natural concave for the thumb to press and grip the handle. The flat surface of the top of the handle contrasts with the organic curvature, like a “section” split in two, it creates a mirrored look when used as a pair of pull handles.
