Bow Street Police Museum & Hotel

The Bow Street Magistrates’ Courthouse and Police Station was originally built in 1880 and utilized until 2006. It is located at the northeast corner of Covent Garden’s Conservation Zone and across from the Royal Opera House.

The Courthouse has a unique history of incarcerating notable figures such as Oscar Wilde and Casanova, while the Police Station housed London’s first police force.

Neri&Hu won the design competition to convert the Grade II listed facility into a boutique hotel and unique destination. The hotel will feature 100 guestrooms, 2 restaurants, and a Museum to commemorate the history of the Courthouse & Police Station.

Neri&Hu’s exterior design respects the historical structure while new elements augment the rooftop and formed courtyard. The interior design complements the historical fabric with inspiring spaces, natural materials, and exquisite detailing to convey a mood of modern domesticity.
